LP portal

An LP portal is the secure, authenticated area where a fund gives its limited partners access to statements, capital calls, quarterly letters, and fund reporting.

The LP portal is the private counterpart to the public-facing IR site. It holds the material that cannot live on the open web: capital-account balances, distribution notices, K-1s, and performance detail by fund. Access is per-investor, and the audit trail matters for compliance as much as convenience.

For private equity managers, LPs increasingly judge a firm partly on how professional this experience feels — a clunky portal reads as operational sloppiness. Getting the portal and the surrounding IR presence right is a coherence problem, which is why we treat it alongside broader IR website requirements rather than as a bolt-on feature.
