Deal marketing
Deal marketing is the practice of presenting a transaction to its intended audience — buyers or investors — through the materials, channels, and environments an advisor controls.
Deal marketing spans the full sell-side toolkit: the teaser, the CIM, the management presentation, and increasingly the web environments that carry them. The goal is not volume but precision — reaching the right buyers on the buyer list with material that reads as institutional.
The discipline has quietly moved onto the web. A CIM microsite or a considered tombstone page is deal marketing by another name, and the same standards that govern a firm's public site apply to the materials that go out under its name. For M&A advisors, treating these artifacts as part of the brand is what separates a well-run process from a scattered one.
